Sunday 2nd October 2016: Today Secular Franciscan Order group celebrated the feast St. Francis of Assisi. The morning service started with the Holy hour at 7.00 a.m. Maria Crasta Gurkarn of Velankani ward organized the Veneration of the Blessed Sacrament. V. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira celebrated the Holy Eucharist. In his sermon he described the life of St. Francis Assisi and how he became poor to go to heaven as a rich man.
He also highlighted the Gospel reading which said that we are the servants of God and it is our duty to serve God without claiming any reward for it.
The SFO members conducted the Holy Mass Liturgy and joined the Choir in singing the hymns.
We wish all a Happy Feast of St. Francis of Assisi especially to SFO members.
After the mass the “ಫಿರ್ಗಜ್ ಸಭಾ” meeting was held to discuss on several matters like the Parish Feast, Cemetery clean up & renovation and matters concerning the parish.
