October 6, 2024: The Secular Franciscan Order (Third Order of St. Francis - T.O.S.F) marked their annual feast during the 7:30 am Mass at Corpus Christi Church. The celebration commenced with adoration to the Blessed Sacrament at 7:00 am, followed by the Eucharistic Mass at 7:30 am. The liturgy was led by the tertiaries, members of the Third Order, who took an active role in the service.
Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza delivered a thought-provoking sermon, focusing on the significance of Mission Sunday. He traced its origins back to the early days of the Church and encouraged the faithful to participate in the Church's missionary work. Drawing on the life of St. Teresa of Lisieux, the patroness saint of missionaries, Fr. Onil D'Souza illustrated how each person can live out their faith through missionary service in their daily lives. Additionally, he paid tribute to St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the T.O.S.F, reminding the congregation of his legacy of humility and service.
Following the Mass, the members of the Secular Franciscan Order gathered for a fellowship breakfast, deepening their bond and reflecting on their shared commitment to live out the Franciscan values.
