On October 7, 2024, Corpus Christi Church celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary with a special recitation of the Rosary at 5 p.m. Rev. Fr. Onil D’Souza began the service by recalling the historic Battle of Lepanto in 1571, where Christian sailors joined Pope Pius V in praying the Holy Rosary, leading to their victory over a much larger Turkish force. This reflection set the tone for the prayer service, highlighting the power of the Rosary in times of crisis.
Fr. Onil led the congregation through the five decades of the Joyful Mysteries, offering a brief explanation of each mystery and quoting relevant biblical references. The meditative atmosphere was further enriched by his intercessions, which included prayers for the end of the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine, for the well-being of the children and youth of the parish, and for healing for those who are sick and suffering.
Approximately fifty parishioners attended the prayer service, joining in the prayers with devotion. At the conclusion of the service, Fr. Onil expressed his gratitude to everyone present for their participation. As a gesture of fellowship, juice was served to all attendees.
