Moodbidri– On October 12th, the fourth installment of the ongoing Bible study series at Corpus Christi Church brought attendees to the brink of a new chapter. The lecture, led by Fr. George, delved into the concluding sections of the Gospel of Matthew and then transitioned to an introduction of the Gospel of Luke.
Fr. George began by recapping the key points covered in previous sessions, providing a solid foundation for understanding the Gospel of Matthew. He then explored the unique perspective that Matthew brings to the Gospel, highlighting the influence of Jewish traditions and beliefs on his writing style. By the end of the session, attendees had a comprehensive grasp of Matthew's message.
After a brief tea break, Fr. George turned his attention to the Gospel of Luke. He emphasized the symbolic representation of Luke as a bull, signifying Christ's sacrificial nature. Additionally, Fr. George clarified the identity of Luke as a companion of Paul, citing evidence from the Acts of Apostles and the writings of early Church Fathers like St. Ireneus.
The lecture concluded at 4:55 PM, leaving parishioners eager to continue their exploration of the Bible in the following sessions.
