Novena of Mother Mary- 2nd Day

Aug. 31: The 2nd day of Nativity Novena started  with Holy Mass at 6.45 a.m. with church full of crowd being a holiday. Children carrying flower baskets and plates was a pleasant sight to see.

Today’s theme for meditation was “ The escape of Mother Mary to Egypt” and today’s intention  -“To pray for the Homeless, wanderers- refugees and escapees.  Due to  calamities like  wars, riots, earth quakes, storms etc., people become homeless, wanderers and refugees.  We should remember to help these  shelter less  people by our prayer, material help, shelter and personal services so that they also live in peace in this world with food and shelter. We should make our children understand these situations in the world where we live in comfortable houses.

After the mass children offered flowers to Mother Mary while singing  “ Mariek Hogalsiyan” in the church veranda and saying the Novena Prayer. Sweets were distributed to all present for the novena.

Oh Mother Mary, be a Shelter to all refugees and homeless like a mother.
