Nov.29: Theme:Preparing for the Coming of the Lord
Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and ends on the day before Christmas. Thus it begins today the 28 November 2010. The general topic of Advent is the coming of Jesus Christ, both in the manger in Bethlehem and in the clouds of glory at the end of the world. Jesus explains that no one knows the time of the Second Coming, therefore we should always be prepared.
V. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres celebrated Children’s mass at 10.30 a.m. The X Std. Students sang the hymns and lead the prayers. Before mass the children recited the Morning Offering, Acts of Faith, Hope, Charity & Contrition and Angelus.
Fr. Austin explained the meaning of Advent and the reason to remain prepared always for the coming of Christ. We forget the great value of heavenly treasure to the useless short term riches of this world. The people were dancing, drinking, eating and marrying until the last moment and were unaware of the flood. Therefore let us open our eyes and remain prepared for the coming of Christ so that we will enjoy the everlasting heavenly life or else the heavenly doors will be closed for us.
Let us all prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus and enjoy Christmas season.
