Pompeii ward celebrated their annual feast

The Pompeii ward celebrated their annual feast on 30th October 2022. The day began by offering mass at Corpus Christi Church Moodbidri at 7.30am, followed by the feast celebration at noon at Mr.Jerome Lydia Dsouza's residence.               

V.Rev.Fr.Onil D'souza-Parish Priest,  Mr.John Menezes-Vice President parish Pastoral Council,Mr.Ronald Serrao-Secretary Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs.Sylvia Mascarenhas-Co-ordinator of 21 commission,Sr.Priya Maria-superior carmel convent,Sr.Leena Dcunha-superior Morning Star Convent,Mr.Aldrin Fernandes-Gurkar of Pompeii ward and Mrs.Diana Lobo-Secretary of Pompeii ward were the dignitaries on the dias.             

The event was honoured by the presence of Gurkars of 11 wards and presidents of various associations of the parish.             

The programme commenced with a prayer service led by Mr.Joyston Dsouza, followed by a welcome dance.              

Ward Gurkar Mr.Aldrin Fernandes  welcomed the gathering. Ward secretary Mrs Diana Lobo presented the annual report.                      

Students who passed SSLC and PU board exams during 2021-22 were honoured.       

On occasion 'Amrith Mahotsav' of Indian Independence, Mr.Henry Lobo who served in the Indian Army for 15 years, including the Indo-Pak War of 1971 was felicitated.       

V.Rev.Fr.Onil Dsouza addressed the gathering and briefly described the history of Our Lady Of Pompei.            

Ward Representative and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Mr.Ronald Serrao rendered a vote of thanks.                         

Various games were conducted for the gathering and winners were awarded with prizes.Along with games, various cultural events were organised by the ward members.           

Grace before meals was given by Sr.Evelyn Marie.

The programme concluded with delicious food served to everyone gathered.Mr.Ronald Dsouza compered the programme.
