Velankani ward feast celebration

On September 10, 2023, the vibrant members of Velankanni Ward came together to celebrate their annual ward feast at the residence of Mrs. Glady's Miranda Pranthya at 5:30 p.m. The event commenced with engaging games for both children and adults, setting the stage for an evening filled with joy and spiritual reverence.

The highly anticipated annual feast began with an enchanting welcome dance performed by the young ward children. Mrs. Maria Crasta, the Ward Gurkan, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza, along with other prominent leaders including Vincent D'Souza, Mrs. Celine D'Souza, Mrs. Theresa Cardoza, Sr. Leena, Ward Gurkar, and Catholic Sabha President Mr. Harry Rego. This colorful evening united all ward members in a spirit of joy .

The main event featured a touching gesture of showering flowers upon Velankanni Mai by the Ward children, followed by prayers led by Mrs. Anita Sequeira. Secretary Lavina D’almeida then presented the annual report for 2022-2023, highlighting the various activities and services rendered by the Ward members. Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza distributed prizes to the game winners and expressed gratitude to event sponsors.

The evening continued with lively Konkani songs, dances, and skits performed by the ward members and was skillfully hosted by Miss Devina Sequeira. Mr. Alexander Vincent Sequeira delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, and Sr. Leena blessed the lovingly prepared food. Ward Gurkan Maria Crasta initiated the sumptuous meal with a grace-filled moment. This feast was a resounding success, fostering unity and a sense of community among Velankanni Ward members.
