Carmel Ward feast celebrated-2019

Sunday 14 July 2019- Carmel Vado families of Corpus Christi Church celebrated the feast of their patron Mother Mary of Mount Carmel today during the 7.30 a.m. mass. Parish priest V.Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira Celebrated the Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice. Carmel ward members organized the liturgy, readings and Singing.  All ward members including children brought offerings to offer during the offertory.  After the mass Scapulas were blessed and distributed by the Apostolic Carmel Nuns.

The Feast celebration was organised at the terrace of  IRA Apartments with a festival program. Our Lady of Mount Carmel was honoured ward families offering flowers while singing “Ankwari bhitari sobhagini”. The bible procession followed prayer after which the stage program to welcome and honour the guest was conducted. Guests were presented with Jasmine and Mulberry saplings to remind “Laudato Ci” intention. Annual minutes of meeting were read by Secretary Ida Pinto and a message from Gurkar to all present. Parish Priest gave his message on the importance of small Christian Community and how to remain united and in love in the ward.

Dances by children, youth and women followed and also games and quiz conducted.    After thanksgiving and prize distribution food was served and all enjoyed the food ending with payasa.
