2014: Novena of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-4th day

4th Day of Novena: Mass started at 6.45 a.m. Church was full with adults and children  carrying flowers  to honour Mother Mary.

Thought for the day: Mary is a witness  to model motherhood

Message: Motherhood is a gift

Motherhood is a great gift of God and all mothers should consider this as their fortune.  Don’t make your children mama’s boys but make them good children of God and good citizens.  Children are the fortune of the family and it is the mother who keeps this fortune spotless and shining.  Let us pray for the women who were not fortunate to become mothers, prays for the souls of the dead mothers and mothers in the world to follow Mary as a model of motherhood.

After the mass children offered flowers to Mother Mary by  ‘offering ceremony”  in the church veranda and reciting the Novena Prayer.  Sweets were distributed to all present for the novena.

Oh Mother Mary, help our mothers  to be like you to guide their children in the footsteps of Christ.
