Carmel Ward celebrated their annual day on Sunday 20th October 2013 from 12.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the Terrace of Lawrence Cecelia D’ Costa’s House. All ward families, all ward gurkars, Sisters of Carmel and Morning Star convent, Vice-President, Secretary and Parish Priest V. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres were invited. 28 Carmel ward family members, Sisters of both convents, 4 ward Gurkars, VP and Fr. Austin Peres attended the function. In total about 80 persons were present.
Function started honouring Mother Mary with flowers while singing “A Mariye Tuje Naav Varnitanv”. Family members came together to offer flowers. Calling Jesus, Reading, prayers of faithful, thanksgiving hymn followed next.
The guests were honoured with a rose followed by welcome dance. The annual minutes of meeting was read next by Secretary Irene Saldanha. Cultural program followed which included, dances by children and adults. Games were carried out next followed by prize distribution. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres addressed the gathering and explained the importance of SCC and benefit of attending the monthly Jamath for an hour of our time.
Ward Gurkar thanked all those who came, those who prepared the food and those helped in making the function grand and successful.

Home cooked food which included, chicken Sukka, grams, pickle, rice & Polov followed by sweet “Payasam” (vorn) was served and all enjoyed food & the function.
May the love and unity of Carmel Ward keep growing.
