9th day of the Novena of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Saturday 7th  September 2013 : Thought for the day: Mary teaches children to respect parents ( elders)   

Message:  Honour thy father and mother

Special  Intention: To pray for fathers

Today the 9th and last day of the novena. Many people and children came with flowers in plates and hands to the mass which started at 6.45 a.m.

Obedience to parents and elders is what Mary teachers us the children of God.  Parents take care of the children and do all sacrifices to bring them up.  So it is totally justifying and duty of us all, to listen to their advice and instructions to become citizens of tomorrow.  We should not forget  to take care of them when they are old as they become helpless due to their weakness.  This way we will honour our father-mothers.

Today we are specially praying for fathers. Many fathers are away from family sacrificing the family closeness & company to bring up their family.  May God bless them and keep them in love & happiness and in union with the family’

After mass, flower showering ceremony took place in the church portico as it was raining, followed by novena prayer. Sweets were distributed to all present.

“Mother Mary teach us to appreciate what our family does for us and be grateful them by showing them our love”
