Corpus Christi Church Hosts Transformative Prayer Service

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Corpus Christi Church held a profound prayer service from 5 to 9 PM, drawing a significant number of congregants.

The evening commenced with an intercession prayer from 5 to 5:30 PM, led by Mr. Clifford and Mrs. Zita Noronha. Following this, the Holy Eucharist Mass and Novena to the Infant Jesus were conducted from 5:30 to 6:15 PM. The session transitioned into a vibrant praise and worship segment led by Brother Elias and his team, who guided the congregation into deep worship.

A highlight of the evening was Mrs. Lavina Nazareth Pinto's powerful testimony. She shared the miraculous physical healing of her son Elroy and her own throat healing, attributing these miracles to the Thursday prayer services.

Rev. Fr. Walter Mendonca, S.V.D, from the Divine Call Centre in Mulki, delivered a compelling sermon on Corpus Christi, focusing on the significance of the body and blood of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Fr. Walter elaborated on the divine power present in the Holy Eucharist, emphasizing the real presence of Jesus and recounting numerous miracles that have occurred over the centuries, including personal experiences.

Fr. Walter highlighted three main benefits of receiving Holy Communion: experiencing spiritual healing akin to how food nourishes the body, understanding the power and value of God's word, and fostering a sense of brotherhood within the community.

After the sermon, Fr. Walter and Brother Elias led the congregation in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praying fervently for the sick and suffering,Students, and those who celebrated their birthdays and anniversaries in the month of May. The service concluded with Benediction, imparting blessings upon all attendees.

Rev. Fr. Onil D’Souza expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the evening’s success. The event concluded with a simple dinner, fostering fellowship among the attendees.
