On April 18th, 2024, Corpus Christi Church held a soul-stirring prayer service, drawing parishioners together in an evening of spiritual reflection and communal worship. The service, which commenced at 5:00 PM and concluded at 9:00 PM, was a testament to the congregation's devotion and unity in faith.
The evening began with an intercession prayer led by Mrs. Wilma Menezes and Mrs. Pauline Lasrado from 5:00 to 5:30 PM, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings. Following this, Br. Elias and his team led the congregation in a heartfelt praise and worship session, accompanied by the melodious voice and music of Br. Osmond Lobo, guiding attendees into a deeper communion with the divine.
The highlight of the evening came with the inspiring sermon delivered by Rev. Fr. Abraham SVD, hailing from the Divine Retreat Centre in Mulki. Fr. Abraham expounded on the significance of priesthood and vocation, emphasizing the universal call to evangelize and bring others closer to God. Quoting biblical scripture, he reminded the faithful of their role as a "Royal priesthood" and shared personal anecdotes to illustrate the transformative power of answering God's call.
Following the homily, Fr. Abraham led the congregation in adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, offering prayers for those involved in preaching ministries and interceding for the sick and suffering. Many experienced spiritual renewal and physical healing during this profound moment of communion with the divine.
The prayer service concluded with a simple dinner served to all attendees, fostering a sense of fellowship and community among participants. As parishioners departed, they carried with them the blessings received and a renewed commitment to living out their faith in daily life.
Corpus Christi Church's prayer service served as a beacon of hope and inspiration, uniting believers in a shared journey of faith and devotion.
