Corpus Christi Church in Moodbidri, celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ Feast on 11th June 2023. The faithful of the parish gathered to commemorate this significant occasion and participate in various religious activities.
In preparation for the feast, a prayer meeting was held on Saturday, 10th June 2023. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the congregation joined in a session of praise and worship conducted by Brother Elias and his team. The atmosphere was filled with spiritual fervor as the worshippers lifted their voices in adoration. Following the praise and worship session, Fr. Anil Kiran Fernandes from the Divine Call Centre Mulki delivered an enlightening sermon.
During his sermon on deliverence,Fr. Anil addressed the influence of satanic powers in the world and their impact on individuals and families. He emphasized the importance of protecting our families from evil and strengthening our relationship with God. Fr. Anil stressed that maintaining a strong faith in God alone can enhance our lives and shield us from the perils of the world. The sermon was a source of inspiration and guidance for the attendees.
The prayer meeting continued with a period of adoration to the Eucharist, where the faithful had the opportunity to spend time in quiet reflection and contemplation before the blessed sacrament. This was followed by benediction, a solemn ritual where the Eucharist was displayed and offered for the veneration of the faithful, accompanied by prayers and blessings.
On the following day, Sunday 11th June, the festivities continued with a street procession of the blessed sacrament. At 7:30 a.m., the procession commenced, with the host prominently displayed in a monstrance in a decorative vehicle. The faithful, led by the clergy, carried the blessed sacrament through the streets of Moodbidri, publicly expressing their faith and seeking divine blessings for the city and its inhabitants.
After the procession, the parishioners gathered in Corpus Christi Church for the celebration of a solemn mass. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza, the parish priest, presided over the mass. During the homily, Fr. Onil expounded on the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, emphasizing its significance and the transformative power it holds for the faithful.
