Sunday 31 Dec. 2017: Corpus Christi Church Moodbidri welcomed New Year 2018 in the evening from 9.00 p.m. starting with “Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament” followed by Eucharistic Celebration.
Parish priest V. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira conducted the “Adoration” with devotion leading the congregation closer to Jesus and thanking God for all His favours on us during last year. Hymns and Bajans were sung to praise Almighty God.
The Mass was celebrated by V. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira as main celebrant and Rev. Fr. John Pereira, Rev. Fr. Michael Menezes and Rev. Fr. Joseph Angelo as concelebrants. In his sermon Rev. Fr. John Pereira highlighted the role Mary in the Holy Family and explained why she is called the mother of God. Also on the first day of the year we celebrate the feast of Mary-Mother of God.
All were wished a Happy Feast and a peaceful New Year. After the Mass cake and malt was served to all. People wished each other “Happy New Year”.
ICYM organised games and some entertainment with dances and songs which was a cheerful welcome to the New Year 2018.
