Novena of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary- Day 2

Aug. 31: Today the 2nd Day of the Novena.  Many children came with flowers in baskets and plates to honour Mother Mary.  V. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres –the Parish Priest  celebrated the Holy Mass at 6.45 a.m.  followed by Novena prayer and flower offering ceremony.

Today’s Theme : Mother Mary teaches us to praise God

Today’s Message: Family members should pray together and live in Faith.

Today’s intention  is to pray for our families who are working in foreign countries sacrificing the family life for the upbringing of family. They suffer loneliness and strive hard to support the family.  Let us pray to God to bless them 

Today’s readings were from Letter of St. Paul to Colossians Chapter 3:15-17

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,………. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

and Luke chapter 1:46-55

And Mary said:“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,………. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty…..

Family is considered as a small Holy church as all families united forms the entire Holy Church of Jesus.  All members must pray together and live in faith.

When we pray let us not limit ourselves to our needs because God is so great that He can provide anything. Let us understand His power, Love and Mercy. When we are happy we pray and thank God but when we are unhappy and sad we don’t think that it is God’s will and continue to praising  & thanking Him.  Today’s readings guide us how to pray, praise and thank God.

Let us firmly decide today to pray together, live in love and thank God for giving/making us a family.
